Srinagar, Mar 08 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Casual and Daily Wagers Forum (JKCDF) on Saturday said that it would gherao Chief Minister’s residence on March 10 (Monday) to protest against their “humiliation” in the budget.
As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), addressing the media persons here, JKCDF President, Sajad Ahmad Parray said that the daily wagers and casual labourers have been humiliated by the government in its budget, presented by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the Legislative Assembly.
He said it is also a humiliation for the Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), who made tall claims during their election campaigning.
“The Chief Minister should be asked why the election manifesto has not been followed. Why the promises made with the casual labourers and daily wagers were not fulfilled,” Parray said, adding, “We don’t support any party, but we expected the government to fulfill the promises it had made.”
“For this humiliation and to press for our demands, the JKCDF has decided to organize a gherao of the Chief Minister’s residence on March 10. A sea of employees will be part of this gherao,” he said and appealed the employees to be part of this programme—(KNO)
